Have I ever said that I LOVE having a girl. I love all the dresses, bows, swimsuits, shoes, PINK, on and on. Elly is the best little girl I could ever ask for. This slide show includes some recent pictures that just melt my heart! If every one of my children were guaranteed to be this wonderful, I'd have a whole litter!

So the RS challenge last week was to write about our mother and this week's challenge is to write about our father so here we go:

My mother, Kathryn Talbot Williams was born on February 25, 1955 (don't worry mom, you don't look a day over 30...SERIOUSLY!) in Oregon City, OR to Cecil J and Helen Clyde Talbot. My mom does not have a middle name and as far as I know, neither does my Grandma. Mom is the 2nd child and only girl of 3 children and was such an adoreable little girl. I'll have to get some pictures to post. She moved around A LOT growing up because her father is a career navy man. She's lived in Hawaii, Japan, CA, and many other places. She didn't get her driver's license until she was 18 because the driving age in Japan is 18 and she lived there during that time. She moved back to the US right around her 18th birthday so she never did any driving in Japan. I get my stature from both my parents, but my mom is a petite 5'2" with brown, wavy hair and hazel green eyes (lucky!). Mom is an accomplished pianist and would always fill our home with beautiful music growing up. I really miss that....especially on Sundays. She is very artistic with painting and sewing and made almost all my prom gowns. Mom is a registered nurse and works in family care. It was such a blessing growing up to have a mom who wouldn't send us to the doctor at every cough...it also made it hard to fake sick to miss school! She is very involved in giving service to others and she is as dependable as anyone you have ever met. She always taught us good values and that when dating, if anyone ever put their arm around us we should give it back to them and ask "does this belong to you?". No doubt I would be in sore shape without such an awesome mom! She has set a great example for the type of mother I want to become.

My father, Ronald LaMar Williams, was born June 23, 1955 (and also EXTREMELY youthful!) in Provo, UT to Beuhl LaMar and Sonia Aluiso Bralich Williams. Dad is the 2nd of 4 children (My mom, dad and I are all 2nd children...that makes us special!), but the oldest boy. He has 1 brother and 2 sisters. My dad was a really good sport as a kid and allowed his older sister to dress him as a girl and introduce him to their neighbors as her sister. As far as I know, there are no lasting complexes :) My dad did pretty much all of his growing up in Southern CA. Mostly in Buena Park and Garden Grove. My dad had the typical big hair and big cars that most kids in the 60's and 70's did. His mother is from Uruguay and his father served a mission in Uruguay so he grew up speaking both English and Spanish. He served a mission in Kobe Japan and married my mom on January 6, 1979. Dad is 5'7" with dark brown hair (only slightly thinning :) ) and brown eyes. My dad is an awesome guitar player and used to play my sister and I lullaby songs before bed every night when we were little. He always got in trouble for playing us "La Bamba"! He is a deputy prosecuting attorney and worked very hard for us growing up...at the same time he always made it to all our sports games, concerts, plays, etc. In the last several years dad has taken up running and runs 5-8 miles 3-4 times a week (is that right dad??). He recently ran his very first marathon!!! What an accomplishment for a 53 year old! Dad serves in the Stake Presidency and has been a great example of righteousness and obedience our whole lives. Dad also knows how to have fun and his great (and cheesy) sense of humor (he would say he "resembles" that remark) always kept our home fun and not too serious. I'm blessed to have such a great Dad! He showed me exactly what I should look for in my own companion.

So there you go! Now you know a little bit about my two wonderful parents. They are currently taking up their most prized role as GRANDPARENTS to our Elly and her 3 boy cousins (with one more boy on the way!). They love her and spoil her with affection. She loves it as much as they do!

Amy, I adore all the pictures of Elly! SO CUTE! I also think it's really cool how your are blogging about the r.s. challenges. I think that is a really cool way to learn about you and your family, and what a blessing it will be for Elly when she grows up to have all that history.
