We took a weekend trip to CA last week and had a great time! Elly had her first experience with the beach and loved it! She didn't really care too much for the sand, but she LOVED the water and the waves. She didn't want to put her feet down in it at first, but once she got used to it, she was splashing and dragging me out into deeper water. The big waves (for her) would come and she would just splash harder. I got some fun video of the beach and once I learn how to upload videos, I will!
Elly hadn't seen her Abuela and Abuelo since she was about 3 months old, so she was her usual shy self at first. But Abuela would have none of that and quickly made friends with Elly. They had a fun time together! She kept her eye on Abuelo the whole weekend as if to say "I'm watching you." But she would also point at him and let him kiss her too so I think they were pretty good friends too. :) 
The main reason we went to CA was for the wedding of my cousin Joe on August 16th. He married a really nice girl named Angela and they are a great couple. The wedding was formal and very pretty with good food and good music and lots of family! This was my favorite picture from the night. They got married at Edwards Mansion in Redlands, CA. It is a very old and classic mansion and the grounds were very pretty. The ceremony was outside and then the reception was in a permanent tent. Joe is the oldest son of my Aunt Patty. She was also looking very pretty that night! It was great to go to CA and get to spend time with my dad's side of the family who I don't get to see hardly enough!
Here is us at the reception. We love a chance to get all dressed up. Elly was very squirmy all night b/c she wanted to explore the whole place. She mostly loved walking out to the dance for, unfortunately it was not to dance, but to lick the floor. Oh well. And did I mention Elly is WALKING?? She has been walking for a couple weeks now and is still pretty unsteady, but if she's paying attention she'll walk all the way down the hall or across the room, etc. She is getting more and more confidence and I love to see her learn. She is growing up so fast!!

You will have to teach me how to make all the cute bows you have made for Elly. I can't believe she is walking already, now the race begins!
What a nice trip. You look gorgeous as usual. We are going to CA in 2 weeks and your pics got me all excited for the beach! I can't believe Elly is walking!!! How fun. I love that stage!
Let us know next time you are in CA. We are only about 20 minutes from Abuela & Abuelo's house. It is fun to see pictures of all your family! That is great that Joe got married. How is Aunt Patty doing?
