Beyonce Who?

Elly has been taking dance lessons for 8 months now and her big recital is just around the corner! We had pictures at the studio last Saturday and here is our little tap princess ready for her close-up! Elly attends a studio where there are all age groups and so while Elly's class may not be the most "technical", there are competition groups and older girls who take it very seriously. So we received a full recital packet, complete with specific instructions for hair and make-up! The hair is supposed to be half up and curly...thank goodness Elly's hair is already curly because she wouldn't let me within ten feet of her with a curling iron! I might try curlers though...just for fun. The make-up includes mascara, blush, eyeliner, brown shadows, red lipstick, etc.! With the little kids they just tell you to do what you can. Elly let me put on most of it, but I tried to go light...she is still my little girl afterall. But boy, was she cute!
This, below, is the "boogie woogie" move I mentioned a few posts ago. Elly has decided to become less of an observer and more of a full participant and is LOVING dance class! We've had a lot of practice at home and talks about how much fun we can have when we're brave and try all the dances. I think she has finally decided I'm right! :) This may be the only victory I have as a parent so I'm gloating just a bit.
